Wind load calculation for the buildings of a Multifaceted residential complex

The wind load (average, peak, pulsation) for the buildings of the multifaceted residential complex was calculated using computational fluid dynamics.

A full-scale 3D aerodynamic model of the residential complex and the context area were imported to Simcenter STAR-CCM+ – a global licensed program for numerical simulation.

The multifaceted residential complex consists of 5 separate building 49-93 m high. The urban context area includes buildings higher than 100 m.

Simulation of flow around buildings with a wind flow by 24 wind directions was based on the numerical solution of unsteady Reynolds 3D equations (URANS approach).

The numerical simulation complies with the requirements of GOST R 56728-2015 “Buildings and structures. Technique of wind load calculation on building envelopes”.
